The Power of Abundance Mindset
As humans, we have been programmed to think from the mindset of scarcity.
Imagine we fight over things that are in abundance.
Yes, Abundance.
Once you change your mindset from scarcity to abundance,
you suddenly realize nothing but the potential within yourself,
rather than the things that can't be done.
The mindset is simply controlled, because we cannot think past the present.
We cannot think of what is possible.
You know, it's interesting—on top of the Washington Monument,
they used aluminum instead of platinum or gold. Why?
Because back then, aluminum was super hard to get.
It took this new process called electrolysis to make getting aluminum from bauxite easy.
So, they went with aluminum, which was a big deal at the time.
In real life, there are many ways to solve problems and do things.
But sometimes, schools teach us that there's only one correct way.
What if we showed students that there are multiple ways to solve a problem?
By working together and looking at things from different angles,
We can learn a lot and come up with creative solutions.
That's how we build an abundance of knowledge and skills.
A scarcity mindset ultimately comes down to the concept that I'll never have enough,
whether it's resources, emotions, or relationships.
So we live our lives full of fear, holding back,
and don't step out to receive what's out there;
instead,
we end up holding onto what we have instead of being open to new things.
There's a massive difference between a scarcity mindset and an abundance mindset.
Scarcity thinking in our life says there will never be enough,
but an abundance mindset says there will always be more.
Scarcity tries to be the best by itself,
while abundance shares and works together to be the best.
Scarcity is stingy, but abundance is generous.
Generosity, by definition, is not about giving what's required,
It's about always giving more than what's required.
That's what a generous person does.
That's a person with an abundance mindset.
Scarcity holds knowledge,
but abundance shares knowledge.
People who serve have an abundance mindset.
An abundance mindset is not a closed fist; it's an open hand.
With an open hand, yes, you risk things falling away,
but you should also open yourself up to receiving more.
You want to welcome more opportunities into your life,
but if you keep your hand closed, you limit what you can receive.
A scarcity mindset will always keep you poor; you'll never have enough.
It's a limiting belief.
You'll never be in a place where you can breathe freely. You'll be walking around clinging, striving, and hoarding.
But an abundance mindset is about trusting that there's more than enough to go around
and being dependent on the idea that resources, opportunities, and blessings are abundant.
Our mindset is created by our thoughts and beliefs.
Our mindset is really important because it controls our responses, decisions, and actions.
Those responses, decisions, and actions create every single aspect of our lives.
So being aware of our mindset is a really big deal.
To create an abundance mindset, you need to focus on two things:
attention and intention.
Attention is what we focus on.
In an abundance mindset,
our attention is on what is working, what we are doing well, what we like, what we appreciate, and what we're grateful for.
Now let's talk about intention.
Intention is how we want to feel in the present moment.
In an abundance mindset,
our intention is to be open, welcoming new ideas, insights, and opportunities.
Where we put our attention and intention determines how we experience life,
whether we have a scarcity mindset or an abundance mindset.
You can stay where you are, or you can choose an abundance mindset.
I chose an abundance mindset, and so can you.
